The goal we all pursue is a balance between work, sleep and social life . In fact, if we had to define our day-a-day life, we would probably get these 3 activities, some with less social life and more work, with more or less hours of sleep, etc. But our routine could be summarized in 3 concepts: sleep, work and social life.
Based on this, there is a social theory called ‘The 3 Eights Theory’ and is based on achieving a balance between these three parts. The goal is to keep a healthy mind and body, and optimum productive activity. This theory tells us that if the day has 24 hours we should dedicate 8 hours at work, 8 hours to leisure and 8 hours to rest. Is this really possible?
8 hours of sleep: It is what we are recommended to be more productive, feel better and being in good mental condition. Most people need 6 to 9 hours of sleep a day. The quality of a person’s life depends on the dream, as we spend a third of our lives sleeping.
8 hours of work: It is the maximum that we should devote to work to be productive. Working more than 8 hours reduces productivity and motivation. When you’re done, turn off your computer, schedule next day’s tasks, and do not think about work again. Remember that you work to live, you do not live to work.
8 hours of leisure: Thinking that leisure is not necessary in our day a day life is a big mistake. Leisure is as important as work and rest as it helps us to maintain a more positive mood. Employing time in relationships, hobbies, sports, travel, etc., makes us enjoy life more.
In conclusion, organize your time around this theory, it will help you balance the 3 pillars and lead a healthier and more productive life.
