Raúl Gonzalez, entrepreneur and restless

Raul Gonzalez

We start the week with an interview to another BeWorker, this time is Raul Gonzalez, we introduce him to you!

Who is Raúl and what does he do ?: Raúl is a BeWorker who has been immersed in the world of Blogging for 6 years. At the end of 2011 he left his job to set up two blogs where he wrote about technology, and he got 400,000 visits per month, today these blogs are still active. At that time, he thought about helping other Bloggers to get those results, and he did it through a personal blog, Ragose. In this blog he explains optimization techniques, how to create quality content and other techniques to get as many visits as possible, and convert.

Describe yourself with 3 adjectives: Nervous, active and humble. And quite restless!

If you had not worked in Blogging, what would you have liked to do?: I have no idea, I’ve been working since I was 15 years old, I’ve worked in many different positions. There is nothing that I especially like, so I have no problem to dedicate myself to anything.

Favorite place of Málaga: Muelle Uno, I love it.

Of all the places in the world that you have visited, which one did you liked or surprised more? Why ?: I am not much of traveling, but for example London I liked a lot and in Spain, I think I’ll stay with Malaga, I would not change it for any other.

A place you would like to visit: Japan, I have it clear. I am a Sushi lover and I really want to go.

Your favorite dish: Lasagna, I make it myself.

A book that you have liked a lot: There is a book that has made me change the way of seeing life, it is called ‘Rich father, poor father’. It is a book that makes you change the way you see the finance world. Everyone from childhood tells us that we have to study, train and have a job for life. This book teaches you that there are other alternatives, it opens the doors to the entrepeneurship world in which there is no limit salary every month. Youself with your decisions can earn more or less money. It also teaches you how to save money, to invest in other projects that generate more money.

Series that you would recommend to everybody: ‘Black Mirrow’. It is a series based on the advancement of new technologies, and in many chapters it reflects things that will happen in the near future.

Your hobby: Blogging, there is a saying that if you work on what you like, it is not a job. I write articles and advise other people, I like it. Moreover, if I can earn money and live on it, great. Apart from this I like to practice sports, cycling, walking, etc.

Music you listen to: Do you know that I’ve been DJ? I really like music, of all kinds. But if I have to choose something, I listen to music from the 90s, when disco music started.

Something you would like to do before dying: I have a list of things pending, apart from traveling to Japan. Jump in a parachute, appear on TV …

Do you practice any sport? Which ?: Yes, every day. On the one hand I bike, I go walking, hiking and gym.

How do you take care of your mind ?: I believe that just as we take care of the body, we have to take care of our mind, it is what is said of ‘Healthy mind in a healthy body’. There isn’t a day in which I do not read an article from a blog, books and lately what has helped me the most is coworking. I think it is very necessary to free the mind from work and coworking has helped me because working from home I never disconnected 100%, and now I impose some schedules and disconnected.

Thank you very much for the interview Raúl!
